Welcome and congratulations

Arapahoe Riding Club welcomes new members to its family with clients Sue Nichol and Georgia Winkler, who recently joined us.Also, congratulations to Annabelle Szymanski, who purchased Halley, Short Stirrup classes this year.
Congratulations also need to go to Magie Hanniem, who purchased Fab, Hunter classes this year. Jocelyn Marra recently leased Senna, Jumper classes this year, and we wish her good luck. We've been busy getting projects finished for this spring. Some of the changes old and new clients might find are new aspen trees that were planted recently and other grounds improvements that started. We did finish the flooring in the tack room and added flooring in the washroom. New fencing plans are moving along, as well, starting mid-summer. We'll let you know when that finishes. We're just now preparing for the upcoming show season, starting with the Spring High Prairie May High Prairie Summer Circuit.
Happy Spring!

ARC first-timer wins division champion

An early morning start at 5 a.m. didn't stop ARC riders Roger Cunningham and Annabelle Szymanski taking home some ribbons Feb. 19 at a schooling show at Savoy Stables in Littleton.
It was Roger Cunningham's first show, riding Riff Raff, or 22, who took home division champion after winning first place in three of five classes.
"I wasn't expecting this," he said, with a smile on his face.
Annabelle also competing well, riding pony Happy Endings, or Haley, taking home ribbons in all of her classes.

ARC takes Stock Show by storm

Arapahoe Riding Club took the 105th National Stock Show by storm this year with three championships, the first time a team has received these accomplishments at the stock show.
Our team was represented by Wilson Dennehy, Wilson's daughter, Liza; our trainers, Olga Anderson and Toni Hrudka; and riders Adrien Wescott, Anika Hilbrich and Maggie Hannum.
We also had some new riders competing this year, and everyone rode beautifully.
When we asked Wilson what he thought, he merely said: "Well, we won, didn't we?"
It was Maggie's first horse show with us, and she did a well-respected showing for her first performance.
Anika also performed well after her horse was injured and she used one of Wilson's horses to compete, finishing fourth and fifth out of 20 competitors.
Liza Dennehy’s horse, Now You Know, was champion in Second Years and A/O Hunter, and Dennehy’s horse, Sir Topham Hat, was champion in First Year and reserve champion in the A/O Hunter division.
“Our horses didn‘t skip a beat; they were absolutely stellar,” Toni Hrudka said.
